Hello friends,
I hope this message finds you well.
I’m excited to debut a new series of drawings, I’m right here with you (2023-present), at The Pulitzer Arts Foundation in St. Louis, MO. This series of daily, meditative drawings reflects on the ephemerality of life, the immensity of love, and the duality of beauty and loss. Please join me for the opening reception on Friday, March 7 and a curatorial tour on Saturday, March 8.
This Friday, February 7, I will be in conversation with Ringling Museum of Art curator Christopher Jones about my current exhibition, Jess T. Dugan: I want you to know my story. The exhibition is on view through February 22.
Anne and Dario, 2023
I’m honored to have been selected as the recipient of The Knight Purchase Award for Photographic Media at the Akron Art Museum. As part of this award, they recently acquired several photographs and both of my autobiographical videos, Letter to My Father and Letter to My Daughter, for their permanent collection.
My videos are also included in Nuclear Family, currently on view at the Griffin Museum of Photography in Winchester, MA. Please join me on February 27 for a virtual panel discussion with several artists in the exhibition.
On February 15, I’m teaching a 3-hour virtual workshop, Professional Practices for Visual Artists: Building & Sustaining a Career, through the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, MA. This workshop, designed for visual artists of all mediums, will be recorded and available for viewing afterwards, so please join us even if you can’t make it in real time. Students and teachers get 20% off with the code STUDENT/TEACHER20OFF.
Last, there are a few spots left in my weeklong portraiture workshop, The Intimate Portrait, at the Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Snowmass Village, CO.
With love, and in solidarity,
Jess
It's a gift to see your beautiful work.
